CHHATTISGARH SANSKRITI represented by music, fair and festivals

Language
Chhattisgarhi is the local dialect of Hindi language in Chhattisgarh. It is spoken Aryan dialect, though it has considerable vocabulary and linguistic features of Munda and Dravidian languages. In each region of the state, about 93 dialects or languages are spoken in the state. In addition of the languages there are a number of local dialects spoken in the different tribal regions of state. Hindi, Oriya and Marathi are also commonly used in Chhattisgarh.

In Chhattisgarhi Sanskriti, the people celebrate each and every event with cheerfulness. Different fairs & festivals that are synonymous to this state are Bhagoriya Festival, Bhoramdeo Mahotsav, Chakradhar Festival, Dussehra Festival, Goncha Festival, Hariyali Kora Navakhani, Kajari Festival, Madai Festival, Narayanpur Mela, Rajim Lochan Mahotsav, and Sheorinarayan Fair.

Folk Dance of Chhattisgarh
The arts & crafts of Chhattisgarh truly represent the dexterity of its artisans. The beautiful collections include amazing wood carvings, bamboo work/furniture, bell metal handicraft; figures of terracotta, tribal jewellery paintings, and clay pieces are some of the specialties from the state. The most mesmerizing is authentic handicrafts. Chhattisgarh is a place to behold the ancient as well as refined form of arts & crafts.
Chhattisgarh Sanskriti is truly reflected by its rich cultural heritage. Chhattisgarh has its own dance styles, cuisine, & music. Pandwani the musical narration of the epic Mahabharata ,"Raut Nacha"(The folk dance of cowherds) and the Panthi and Soowa dance styles arevery popular in the region. Teejan Bai, the Pandwani artist was awarded Padmashree for her contribution to this dance style. People wear colourful dresses. Women too wear sarees with Kardhani.
In rural areas women wear mala made of one rupee coins. Now a days these ornaments have gone out of trend. For the favourite past time people mostly prefer creating humour out of language. Comical plays are very popular and are worth watching. The people love to adopt new trends and life styles. Chhattisgarh sanskriti is multicultural for people from all over the world have com and settled in this region. Chhattisgarhi people are also known for their simplicity and adaptiliy which represents the actual culture of Chhattisgarh.

Chhattisgarh's most famous and popular folk plays are Chandaini-Gonda, Sonha-Bihan, Lorik-Chanda, Kari, Hareli, Gammatiha. Rahas is modern folk plays of Chhattisgarh Sanskriti.
